Crown Thinning

Crown thinning is the part removal of a smaller branches, usually at the outer crown, to produce an even density of foliage around the branch structure.
Crown thinning does not alter the overall size or shape of the tree and we do not normally remove more than 30% of the overall tree.
Common reasons for crown thinning are to allow more light to pass through the tree, reduce wind resistance, reduce weight.
